| The songs weren't good, but the comedie were nice. I still laugh so hard after watching them for the third time. That is what Van Son's is good at. Go Van Son |

I have never enjoyed any of Van Son's DVD's except for the last one, Van Son 31. I thought that was a worthwhile video, and I was hoping Van Son would continue to release decent products like that in the future. Unfortunately, Van Son 32 took a big step backward. The lighting was aweful, staging and choreography looked amateurish, sounds and songs arrangement were terrible, and most importantly, the performers themselves were bad. The only singers that were worth watching was Thanh Tuyen, Thanh Ha, Truong Vu, Nguyen Khang, and Nguyen Thang isn't so bad. Van Son needs to seriously consider letting go some of their singers if they want to improve. How Cat Tien's weak and nasally voice continue to star for VS is beyond me. Le Chi shouldn't even be a local singer, let alone being a pro singer. And Vy is a wonderful dancer, no doubt, but that is what she should be, a dancer. Let's not even talk about Minh Tri and Viet Thi. Van Son blatantly overused pitch control and overprocessed the vocal tracks of their singers hoping to cover for their singers mediocre voice and inability to... high notes. This will probably fool quite a few listeners, but to those that knows a thing or two, it shows Van Son's lack of professionalism in the music industry.
Having said all of the negatives, I should also point out Van Son's positives in this DVD. One of the funny skits with Quang Minh and Hong Dao, I thought was very funny. The documentary that Viet Thao did, I enjoyed that immensely. That was excellent work by Van Son's staffs. |
